Reedsy Webinar: How to Set Freelance Editing Rates
Working as a freelance editor offers a lot of freedom and flexibility — including your decisions over your rates. While it’s great to be in control, how do you walk the fine line between charging competitive rates and charging what you’re worth?
Whether you’re starting to freelance and are unsure where to start when it comes to setting your own rates, or you’ve been freelancing for a while and are looking for inspiration from different pricing strategies, this webinar can give you some useful insights. With years of experience in the industry, Reedsy editors Matrice Hussey and Jennifer Safrey will discuss how they approach setting rates, and reveal tips on:
How to set a base rate (per hour or per word?);
How to work with samples and adjust your rate to individual projects;
Factoring business costs into your pricing strategy; and
How to avoid undercharging and manage clients’ expectations.
