Teach-In: Freedom of Expression and Banned Books at Medford Public Library, Medford, MA

  • Medford Public Library 111 High Street Medford, MA, 02155 United States (map)

I will be joining Christina L. Dobbs, associate professor at BU’s Wheelock School, and local authors, for a Teach-In program about freedom of expression and banned books.

As you know, unconscionable efforts have been made to censor or ban books at libraries and other institutions. At this event, local authors will read from sections of books that have been censored or banned, and speak about the personal meaning they’ve gotten from that book. Dobbs will offer a presentation about the status of banned books around the United States and what we can do about it. There will also be a special exercise on banned words.

Midlife is about rebellion, and this princess plans to rebel.

This event is free and open to the public, but the library would be grateful if you register here: https://medfordlibrary.assabetinteractive.com/calendar/juneteenth-program/
